During the break of BMG's Metalnight, DJ Jelle Bakker played an interesting CD. It turned out to be "Plankton", the debut from the Amsterdam-based band Cancelled. Musically, the quintet offers you a piece of superphat, modern metal. The music is full of cutting riffs and provides a rhythm that makes you jump. The vocalist puts a lot of emotion in his parts. The production of this 4 track EP is excellent, and musically the songs "Senseless", "A Martyr Suicide", "SOS" and "Tragicomedy" will get the band a major record deal for sure (especially if .Calibre did it too). A&R managers wake up!
